Aurora is able to offer training in both ionising and non-ionising radiations.
Depending upon your requirements our courses can be provided from our portfolio or as a tailored bespoke package. The courses can be held at our Oxfordshire offices or at client's premises.
These courses can range from a basic or awareness level right up to ‘Supervisor’, ‘Health & Safety Professional’ or 'Management' level where more detailed is required.
Examples of the type of courses available are:
• Basic radiation awareness.
• Radiation Protection Supervisor training.
• Monitoring techniques.
• Selection and use of radiological instrumentation.
• Emergency response and contingency plans.
• Transport of radioactive material.
• Non-ionising radiation safety.
• Radiofrequency awareness.

We also run regular open Radiation Awareness and Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) training courses at our premises in Oxfordshire. These consist of a morning of general Radiation Awareness training followed by an afternoon session which builds upon the morning providing comprehensive Radiation Protection Supervisor training.
The half day course includes basic radiation physics and biology, radiation risks and protection from exposure. This is suitable and sufficient training for those working with sources of ionising radiation. The stand-alone half day course costs £200 excluding VAT per delegate.
The full day course covers all the requirements for RPS training, including the role and responsibilities of the RPS, monitoring and relevant legislation. The whole day RPS course costs £400 excluding VAT per delegate.
The courses are scheduled for the following dates:
19th July 2011 (now full)
18th October 2011
17th January 2012
