The public sector market is a very disparate market sector and it includes, for example, organisations that are funded ultimately by the tax payer through different administrated routes. Included typically are legislative bodies, local and central administrations, emergency services, safety organisations and educational establishments.

Aurora’s experience of work involving radiation and radioactive materials in this sector has included:

• Working with the emergency services and local and national government dealing with emergencies involving radioactivity from planning through to actual remedial works.
• Working with, and advising, local government on radiological safety matters.
• Helping schools and universities work safely and legally with radiation and radioactive materials.
• Liaising with, and working for, legislative organisations such as the Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive.
• Providing radiological safety advice to central research and development councils.
