  • BSc (Hons) Physics
  • HND Applied Physics
  • Holder of RPA Certificate of Competence issued under the Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999
  • Member of the Society for Radiological Protection

 

Experience

Raj joined the Health Protection Agency’s (formerly the National Radiological Protection Board) Operational Protection Department in Chilton, near Oxford, in October 2001 following the completion of the MSc. During his time at the HPA Raj acted as a Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) and Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) to a wide range of customers.  This included customers in the industrial, research, defence, transport and medical sectors,  Raj also helped provide non-ionising radiation services, which included advice relating to static fields and electromagnetic fields and waves.  Raj also helped provide and manage a number of training courses at the HPA, both in the ionising and non-ionising areas.

 

In August 2006, Raj joined Aurora Health Physics Services and now acts as an RPA and an LPA.
